2011 Ducati 848 Evo featured minor changes to the engine

While most of the chassis components are identical to the 1098/1198, the motor was an all new design in 2008. Producing roughly 116 hp at the rear wheel it out performs the revered Ducati 916 that had a hard time producing more than 100hp and even the upgraded Ducati 998 that produced 110 hp at the rear wheel. The "Testastretta Evoluzione" uses a 94 x 61.2mm bore and stroke for 849cc of displacement despite the bikes moniker of 848. The motor casings were constructed using a new vacuum die-casting method called Vacural that helps the engine weigh seven lbs less than the Ducati 749. The intake valves were increased 2.5mm from the Ducati 749 numbers to 39.5mm. The exhaust valves were enlarged 1.5mm to 32mm. The valve angles are identical to the Ducati 1098. The bike uses a pair of elliptical shaped 56mm throttle bodies fashioned after MotoGP designs.

The 2011 Ducati 848 Evo featured minor changes to the engine, including new Marelli throttle bodies, revised cylinder heads with straighter intake ports and reshaped combustion chambers. Ducati claimed these changes would result in a 6-hp increase, bringing output to 140 measured at the crank, however Cycle World Magazines first dyno test of the engine showed a mere 1.6 hp increase over the previous motor

1198R Corse Special Edition

2010 Ducati 1198R Corse Special Edition Motorcycle Wallpaper2010 Ducati 1198R Corse Special Edition Motorcycle Wallpaper
Along with updating the Ducati 1098R’s nomenclature to the 1198 naming that’s being used with the base and “S” model, Ducati has also released two special edition motorcycles that will use the new 1198R designation. The first new model is the same Troy Bayliss replica that was available last year (sans a new gas tank), but Ducati has also released the 2010 Ducati 1198R Corse Special Edition. Photos and more after the jump.

With an actual displacement of 1198.4cc’s, the 1198R’s had to massacred under the 1098 designation because of a combination of changing rules in WSBK and consistent company branding. Now that the model line has come up-to-date with what’s legal in road-racing, Ducati has finally changed the name of its race homologation Superbike.

The Troy Bayliss edition was updated with a new aluminum gas tank that saves 2lbs and adds .66 gallons of capacity. According to Ducati, the change to the aluminum tank was because of customer feedback in the North American market. Apparently, Americans really like their gas tanks to be made out of metal. Who knew?

As for the 2010 Ducati 1198R Corse Special Edition, it will feature the same 180hp powerplant and specifications as the Bayliss LE. However, it comes with its own unique Ducati Corse paint, instead of the race replica stuff, which mimics the new Ducati Corse logo.

Ducati will also offer the Corse Special Edition in an 1198S platform, presumably with only the 170hp motor being the difference.

Ducati Hypermotard 796 hauls itself across tight hairpins with confidence

2010 Ducati Hypermotard 796 Wallpaper2010 Ducati Hypermotard 796 Wallpaper
Setting our sites on the Bolognese countryside, we flipped the kickstand up and immediately took note that the 796 feels remarkably light on its feet. The clutch operates with minimal effort, though the shifter is a touch notchy going into first. Thrust produced by twisting the right grip is considerable; it may not summon the absolute torque of the Hypermotard 1100, but the 796's combination of a broad powerband, light weight, and shorter gears makes it feel exceedingly fleet. Upshift early and you get none of the driveline chatter of the 1100, and all is forgotten with a slight slip of the clutch, which encourages the L-twin to accumulate momentum. The engine pulls strongly and the fuel mapping and power delivery are completely devoid of surprises-- except when rev limiter cuts in abruptly at 8,500 rpm.

Turns are even more entertaining on the 796; simply shift the bike's weight and lean with light handlebar effort, and the whole motorcycle becomes intuitively obedient to your input. Though the 43 mm Marzocchi forks dive somewhat during aggressive front braking, a touch of rear brake tames much of that tendency. Stopping power is formidable (thanks to those 1100-spec Brembos), and despite the absence of a hard-edged suspension setup, the Hypermotard 796 hauls itself across tight hairpins with confidence.

The 2011 Ducati 848 EVO Superbike now further enhances

The 2011 848EVO now further enhances Ducati's most impressive lightweight Superbike ever with more power from the Testastretta engine and more braking power from Brembo’s incredible Monobloc brake technology combining to provide an even more exciting way to enter the world of Ducati Superbikes.

The “EVO” treatment applied to the 848 introduces a 6hp power boost to 140hp (103kW) and a torque increase to 72.3lb-ft (98Nm) that results in a razor-sharp and easy-to-use power delivery while the combination of the 848's legendary (168kg) chassis set-up and planet-stopping Brembo Monobloc brakes gives unthinkable braking performances most can only dream of.

In pursuit of perfection, Ducati engineers have listened to passionate owners of the 848 Superbike since its delivery in 2008 and now enhance its specifications to deliver impressive performances whether riding through mid-town traffic or racing through track-day competition.

the Ducati 848 EVO now also comes in the limited edition

2011 Ducati Motorcycle

Ducati's 848 EVO for 2011 swaps out the Testastretta's cylinder heads, pistons, throttle bodies and camshafts, and increases power to a claimed 140 horsepower and 72.3 ft/lbs torque - more than liter-bikes of a few years ago.

Already available in Stealth Black and Ducati Red, the 848 EVO now also comes in the limited edition Arctic White with a red frame and red wheels.

Weighing just one pound less than its sibling, the 848 is devoid of the 1198's electronic aids and OOhlins suspension.

Nevertheless, the reduced engine inertia makes it feel more nimble and the reduced power makes it more manageable, arguably resulting in a better streetbike.

2011 Ducati Diavel | Preview,Price,Specifications,Detail Pictres and Techno

Ducati Diavel Design

When the idea for the Diavel entered the minds of Ducati designers, they immediately planned for a lower and longer motorcycle.

"The challenge of building a muscular silhouette over a pure-bred competition motor had to be met with determination and a delicate touch, and the result is a frontal area that looks like a power athlete on the starting blocks," explains the team at Ducati Design responsible for the project. "With the front wheel kept close to the Diavel's body and using the short tail of a sport bike, we were able to blend this muscular design with a chassis that matched."

Already having their famed Streetfighter, Ducati designers went with a more of a "confidence bordering on superiority" in regards to the overall stance of the new Diavel.

The new motorcycle features lateral radiators adding muscle to its broad "shoulders," which then taper down across the engine and into the belly-fairing with oil cooler, bringing shape to the Diavel.

Ducati says a massive 240 section rear tire was a perfect example of how Diavel designers used a no-compromise attitude when applying their wish list of features. The sheer width of rubber communicates so much power and style that the R&D team vowed to find a way to make it handle - even if they knew the image would send a seismic shock through the industry.

The Diavel's twin-level seat is wide, comfortable and beautifully shaped to fit the flowing lines of the machine and at 770mm (30.3in), has one of the lowest seat heights in the Ducati range.

That low seating position, in addition to a low slung chassis set-up that weighs in at just 210kg (463lb) - 207kg (456lb) for the Diavel Carbon - enables the rider to get both feet on the ground for a sure-footed and confident stance. The seat also comes with a beautifully shaped and easily removable single seat cover, which is formed in carbon fibre on the Diavel Carbon.

Passengers on the Diavel will appreciate the way the slender passenger footpegs ingeniously fold down from the rear sub-frame as well as the innovative, T-bar shaped grab-rail assembly, which slides out from the rear of the seat.

Deployed from a mechanism under the seat, the grab-rail provides a comfortable and confidence-inspiring grip for the passenger, while the shape perfectly blends into the lines of the tail-piece when retracted.

Both passenger-friendly features are crafted in forged aluminum and shot-peened for strength and uniform finish before being black anodized to become almost invisible when folded away.

The Ducati Data Analyser (DDA) - complete with PC software, a USB-ready data retrieval card and instructions - evaluates the performances of the bike and its rider, and makes comparisons between various channels of information.

Normally only available on race bikes, DDA records numerous channels of data including throttle opening, vehicle speed, engine rpm, engine temperature, distance traveled, laps and lap times.

The system also automatically calculates engine rpm and vehicle speed data so as to display gear selection as an extra channel of information.

An additional channel of information is now dedicated to recording the DTC index which can then be viewed as a graphic trace and indicates the amount of DTC interaction during wheel- spin.

At the end of a ride or track session, an upgraded 4mb of data can be downloaded to a PC ready to compare, analyze and get an inside view of the performance of the rider and motorcycle.

Data can be analyzed in graphic form with options to zoom into detail of specific sections. Dragging a trace along a timeline to reveal individual values of the above listed channels enables the user to analyze performance in the same way that data technicians can in factory teams. The software allows data to be compared with that from a completely separate session and for pages of data to be printed off easily.

Diamond black silk Ducati Monster 796
This bike will not have an easy life in our market and a wide range of competitors is only one of the reasons for this. It is true that this machine is the voice of reason Ducati engineers, making great runs, but its creators like to forget that use of the vehicle does not consist solely of driving. So if you like weekend guides around the city and back roads outside of it - you'll be delighted with this Monster. 796 was created to give pleasure without regard to such mundane matters as coverage, poor visibility in the mirrors, or lack of clipboard under saddle. It is my opinion the best naked from Bologna, he definitely enjoyable in their habits than the 696 and while not trying to intimidate its owner, as the 1100th The model 796 power, lightness and fun of driving are the most convincing configuration.
But if you count the fact that you manage to make it work calls for daily commute to work ... now it can start looking for something more Germanic.
